5 out of 5 stars I lurrrve my new toaster.   July 11, 2005

I first came across this toaster when I was working in a busy bar/coffee shop and we used it to make all our toasted sandwiches. I've had a secret hankering for one of my own ever since and now my dream has finally come true. Yes it was expensive, and I suppose all it really does is make toast (and toasties), but it does it so well, you really feel you're supporting British industry and let's face it, it looks sooo cool on the counter!

5 out of 5 stars Best Invention Since Sliced Bread   September 18, 2005

Have you ever wondered why toast from your favourite Greasy Spoon tastes so much nicer than the stuff you make at home? More than likely its because they use a Dualit toaster, whereas you have some dodgy 20 quid job from the catalog shop. Yes, its expensive. The timer is clockwork, the popup mechanism isn't sprung but the tefal-heads at Dualit have put all the design and manufacturing expense into the most important thing: how it makes toast. To give you an indication of just how good it is, it even makes great toast from brown bread.

5 out of 5 stars Total convert   December 23, 2006

After years of fluffing money on design-over-content type toasters which required a sequence of flippings and rotatings to ensure all over brown toast I'm pleased to report that this toaster achieves perfect toast each time at the mearest flick of the timer. I can also report that it makes totally delicious toasted sandwiches. It is a revelation and makes me very happy.

5 out of 5 stars Very Expensive...but worth every penny   May 17, 2007

You might think anyone would be mad to pay so much for a toaster. Several of my friends are Dualit-o-philes and tried to convince me, but whilst I didn't believe their words, I certainly believed it when they made me toast!

I've got my own dualit now and yes, I'm a complete convert. It not only makes the best darned toast ever, but does it in such quiet, calm, effortless way it makes breakfast time feel so much more... civilised.

I love the way it doesn't try to be clever and automate everything. Which means you can peek at your toast whenever you like, add just a tiny bit extra time, or take one slice out before the rest...and it doesn't get narky about it; it knows who's boss!

5 out of 5 stars Looks good, and even makes the toast too!   December 12, 2006

OK, it's the top of the range toaster, but it's built well, looks cool - is an iconic look for your kitchen. Something you'll be proud to use.

We've had ours for a year now, and it's working just fine. You can even get spares for these quite easily, so if something goes wrong, you can get the spare parts rather than throwing the whole thing away like you do with cheaper appliances.

A toaster for life?

Probably.
