Good value for money toaster February 26, 2008 Mrs. Bryony A. Shaw (Ely, Cambs) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We bought this toaster as we were making bread in the bread machine and finding it hard to get the bread into our 2 slice toaster. We had to chop the tops of as it makes bread a bit bigger than standard. It did the job as far as that was concerned. Worked fine as a toaster - as previous reviewers have said it doesn't quite push up enough for getting smaller things out of it - but this wasn't a big prob for us - just get the little tongs out when necessary. After many years - can't remember how long - it sparked the other day and is now broken. I am on here looking for a new toaster now and seriously considering just getting another one of these because it has done us so well. The only thing putting me off really is that I fancy a change, so would def recommend it to anyone else.
Sure, it's a good priced toaster, but..... March 24, 2006 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
For the price it's certainly a goods toaster but be aware that thick slices sometimes won't pop-up because they get caught under the (quite sharp) inside edges of the toaster. Also the lift mechanism doesn't lift up high enough in my opinion (our previous toaster did a better job at that).
Disappointing May 9, 2006 Annette (UK) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
Looks better than it toasts. Uneven, and lift mechanism is not high enough (I don't recommend it for crumpets!). Wish I'd kept my old toaster.
Awkward December 21, 2008 T. Barrance (Cardiff, Wales, UK) Looks good. But it doesn't lift the toast high enough and it leaks crumbs over the worktop. I wouldn't buy one again.
Don't waste your money February 1, 2008 N. J. Ritchie (s Wales, UK) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Bought this about 12 months ago - completely fed up with it - now looking for something better - shouldn't be too difficult. The mechanism does not lift the toast out far enough to grip easily. Toast is either underdone or burnt - whatever setting you put it on. Complete waste of money!!
