Poor quality, didn't last a year July 7, 2008 mrcambridge (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Although a nice design, and the warming rack is a useful addition - they are the only two positive things I can say about this toaster. It didn't brown toast evenly, and within a few months, didn't toast well at all, as the elements aged. But within a year, it had failed, the element burned through, it caught fire and left a acrid plastic smell in our kitchen for days. We only used it a couple of times a week too! I would never recommend this - it is a very poor product.
DON'T BUY, BLOWS AFTER 2 MONTHS August 20, 2008 J. Fieldhouse 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I only had this toaster for 2 months when it started giving off an acrid smell and the element blew up. Need I say anymore, buy something else, not Kenwood.
Lasted just over a year August 23, 2008 Howie (Berkshire, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Seems like we did better than the other reviewers as ours lasted just over a year. Then we had a bright flash as the element burnt out. It was doing OK up until then - not brilliant but OK. Seems obvious that Kenwood have a serious reliability problem with this unit.
Returned immediately September 8, 2008 S. W. Andrew 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My second try with a Kenwood and same problem as before - toasting slot too small. Accepts small slices ok but many have to be pushed and bent to fit in. I'll keep trying until I find a manufacturer that realises bread comes in many different sizes.
AVOID! Lasted about 2 months before dying.. October 3, 2008 C. Green 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toaster lasted just over 2 months before the eject mechanism jammed, rendering it unusable. The build quality is shocking. Unfortunately, I bought it before the other negative reviews started appearing. I would have thought a big name like Kenwood would actually test their products before selling them, but in this case apparently not. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
