5 out of 5 stars More than just a toaster   May 28, 2008

What the previous two reviews failed to recognise that this is more than just a toaster. Thanks to its massive adjustable slot you can fit toasted sandwiches, panini's, crossaints, bagels etc etc and it works perfectly using the lower temperature setting to gently toast your bread and melt your ingrediants. Just toasting bread its fine but when you have the versaility to do so much more you can accept this. Great idea, good design and worth 35.

I've been using this product now for about 6 months. It's brill for toasting baguettes and for warming Croissants or Pain au Chocolat - make sure it's on a low heat setting though, so it doesn't burn. Makes good Toasties too, and save getting the sandwich toaster out

5 out of 5 stars Superb, flexible piece of kit.   July 22, 2008

Have used this toaster for a month now and found it to be excellent. The huge slot allows a wide range of things to be toasted. The switchable high and low power settings makes it easier to toast all the way through or just on the outside.

Brilliant machine, a huge step forward compared to my old two slot toaster.

3 out of 5 stars Uneven cooking   May 25, 2008

As much as I like the concept of this toaster and its ease of use, I'm about to return it for the same reason as Radio MIke. When you look at the cooking element while its on you can see that some of the heating wire protrudes through the card a long way while in other areas the wire does not even poke through the card - hence uneven cooking

This thing could win medals for uneven toasting. You put in a slice of bread, and when you see the smoke rising, that's your cue to hit the cancel button. When you check the bread, it's practically a toasting colour-chart, ie, the sides are black and smouldering, one side has a patch of brown in the middle but is completely white at the bottom, while on the other side, the aforementioned brown patch is more of an anaemic yellow. Within two days I'd retrieved my old toaster from the roofspace, which, although far from perfect, makes infinitely better toast than this contraption.
