Better than the Dualit January 18, 2010 P. McGuire (Brussels. Belgium) We have had a Dualit for years and the timer broke twice, it did not cook evenly on each side, often delicate bread got caught in the lever system(old fashioned). For so much money it was a waste, now that we have got this great looking De'Longhi which toasts quickly, evenly and fits thicker pieces of bread. Only pity is they do not make the 2 slot in RED. Let's hope it lasts, as it is only 1 month.
Toast October 25, 2009 Mrs Alison Smith My Toaster went bang the other morning - no Toast for us!Within the hour I was on Amazon and ordered the Delonghi Icona Toaster. It was a fantastic price and looked very modern. Next day, it arrived - in time for Breakfast. I unpacked it and was very impressed with the look and style of it. I put it to the test straight away and it is brilliant. It browns the Toast to your liking and I love it. It even has a defrost setting, which works really well too. I would recommend this Toaster and the seller to anyone.
Smart looking toaster - I like March 10, 2010 Barbara Holdaway (Sudbury, Suffolk) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Although my old Swan toaster was still working well (after 10 years plus) I wanted to update it. It took me a while to settle on this one but am pleased I did. It's deep enough for a large slice of bread and once you get used to knowing what setting to put it on for various breads (that's obviously a very personal choice)it does a good job. The bagel setting works well by toasting the inside surface more than the outside. As other reviews say it works better if both slots are used, as if only one slice is being toasted it sometimes toasts one side more than the other but I just turn it over and redo on the lowest setting. I don't find that a problem although some people might. All in all it's a good looking item that works to my satisfaction.
Best of a Bad Bunch January 30, 2010 Dr. Robert D. Williamson (Norwich United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had a few toasters over the last few years - they're complicated, cheap items and therefore short-lived.
So far, the De'Longhi is the best - toasts well, solidly built (metal case, I think), nice 'bagel' feature that toasts the 'inner' sides more than the outer.
Loses one star as the 'lever' action isn't as smooth as it could be.
Will it last more than 366 days? - I'll let you know when it dies!
De Longhi 2 slice Toaster December 15, 2009 Dennis McQuillan (Cornwall UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A Which? best value buy which lives up to its name. A little slow but good even browning and capable of toasting bagels, muffins and such like. One word of warning - do allow 30 secs between consecutive toastings and turn the browning control down by 1/2 a segment, otherwise your smoke alarm will activate! A tidy and useful kitchen aid.
