Kitsch Toaster by Kitchen Aid! January 3, 2007 L. A. Ward (North Yorkshire) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had always wanted a Dualit as these are seen to be the best in toasters, however, I went to look at them in the flesh and changed my mind to the Kitchen Aid. The build quality of the Dualit was poor - and the finishing, terrible with sharp edges to the toaster and in particular, the crumb tray. I would always prefer to buy 'British Made' goods - but this poor finishing was not acceptable. The Kitchen Aid toaster is simple. Even though it has an electronic control the controls are easy to use and very robust. Even better - it looks FANTASTIC on my kitchen side! I look at it every morning with pride (sad, I know)!! I absolutely love it and am now saving to get the blender to match.
Looks great, performs badly. November 17, 2007 Sean Callery 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
You can buy a standard toaster for around 20, and expect it to last a couple of years. Pay five times that, and you'd expect many years of terrific toasting. No so. The element packed in after about 18 months, and Kitchen Aid didn't respond to my request for help in fixing it. Looks great, but no better than a toaster for a fraction of the price.
Kitchen Aid Artisan 2 slice toaster November 11, 2008 Loxley (London, UK) Appears well built but don't judge this book by its cover. The element failed just after the 2 year warranty period and Kitchen Aid recommend buying a new unit as a cheaper option than replacing the element. Avoid.
