The best toast yet! September 4, 2003 Windosil (Scotland) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I ordered this on the basis of the customer reviews of the 4-slice model by the same manufacturer. It is a delight. The toast is evenly browned almost all over on both sides, though the bottom is not quite so brown as the top.Quite the most delicious toast I have ever experienced with a "toaster"! Indeed, I don't think it would be so good by any old-fashioned method, and certainly not so quick. Even a frozen scone was perfect, and the 'defrost' setting was effective. The metal walls are not 'cool', but this does not create a problem. The controls are plastic, so do not get hot, while the main control can be raised to lift the finished toast just high enough to get it out without touching the metal.
Great toast and stylish too - what more could you want?! September 15, 2003 Alison (Derbyshire) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
We bought this toaster for style and were pleased to discover it makes great toast too! The adjustable dial let's you choose how browned you want it and it toasts the bread evenly on both sides. Makes mornings before work that little more bearable!!!
Gorgeous and makes great toast! May 21, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Lovely toaster, nice satin silver effect, makes very good crispy toast. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement. Only caveat is that the sides get VERY hot, as I once found to my peril on moving it after using, nearly having the logo branded on my palm!
Questionable style over function March 16, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This toaster is quite stylish if a little odd-looking. I don't have any arguments with how it toasts the bread as such, or the controls and how well they work, but the slots are just simply too small considering the normal size of the toaster. They're thick enough, I suppose for halved bagels and such, and they're wide enough for a slice from a normal shop loaf, but with my previous toaster (which was no bigger overall) you could fit two smaller items side by side in the same slot, or one long item could fit in easily all at once, which is not the case now.
Patchy Performance July 14, 2007 Muppet of Kent (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We added this to our wedding list because its looks and features and several years on we still have it (which I guess is fairly positive) but I have to say I have been disappointed. It toasts unevenly, I usually end up moving the toast around to get it even. I think it's expensive for what it is and am now looking for another one.
