4 out of 5 stars dualit 4 slice soft touch toaster   June 8, 2007

Stylish design, looks great. It toasts really quick and evenly. It is expensive for a toaster but it will get used daily so i'm hoping it will last years. If you can afford it buy one as it can be false economy to buy a cheap one. Reccomended ****

3 out of 5 stars Looks good, but...   April 29, 2007

Being a Dualit product, I was immediately confident in its design and quality. It may have good looks, but it does not have the reliability of their higher range toasters (it is cheaper after all). The toast settings even at the low end seem to be quite high and burn the edges around the bread. Plus the "spring action" tends to be quite high strung popping the toast up and then often flinging it on the floor. Not a great start to the morning! I think the investment into a top end Dualit would not have been such a bad idea.

1 out of 5 stars Dualit disposable toaster   January 29, 2008
Mr. Terry A. Potter (Wales)
Our toaster broke down out of guarantee and we asked Dualit where we could get it repaired. The reply came back that the toasters are built in such a way that they cannot be repaired (So much for saving the planet!!). There are plenty of toasters which are just as good at toasting bread for less money and if you are spending 65 then the Kenwood semi professional is far better value, looks better quality, is better built and whats is more is repairable if it goes wrong.

1 out of 5 stars Absolutely useless, do not buy.   April 8, 2008
Jerry (Glasgow, Scotland)
This toaster is incapable of competently toasting a single slice of bread. One side - the inner side - is done well, the other, outer, side is barely done. This is apparently because heat gets through from the unused slot, a problem my ancient Morphy Richards toaster never suffered from. The manual mentions this issue and says there may be a some unevenness when toasting a single slice. That is not true. One side is done, the other isn't. Useless. Hopeless. A waste of money. I bought it through amazon from pots and pans. I cannot recommend them either, as they are prevaricating with a refund.
