This toaster does not like 'thick' slices of bread i.e. toastie. After a year one side of this toaster no longer works, you push down the handle to toast but it no longer stays down and pings straight back up. A very expensive two slice toaster. The only reason for giving this item 2 stars instead of 1? It looks smart in a modern kitchen sitting on the worktop but that is really all.

I would just like to echo the sentiments of the other two reviewers. I bought this toaster a year ago, while I was very pleased with it at first, and it does look nice, it is now taking an inordinate length of time to do its thing. Also, it's not the easiest to keep clean. Grooves in the top between the slots are a haven for tiny crumbs. While I'm on the subject, the slots could be bigger as well, so you don't have to squish your slices in. But other than that, it's perfect!

We have been extremely disapointed with our DeLonghi toaster. Oh yes it looked lovely sitting on the kitchen worktop but soon showed it's limitations. We like reasonably thick slices of toast- the toaster didn't. It stopped popping up the toast after just a year of use, then began to need longer and longer to brown the bread. We have now had it 3 years and two slots have stopped working alltogether and the remaining two are very feeble. It will be going to the tip in the very near future. Style over function here I think.
