5 out of 5 stars Great kettle - no problems at all   November 4, 2008
Steffie (Notts, UK)
Bought this kettle over a year ago to replace my old faithful Russell Hobbs kettle. Have had none of the problems mentioned by other reviewers, in fact have had no problems whatsover. I am now about to purchase a second one as a Christmas present.

2 out of 5 stars Leaks.   April 14, 2008

I bought mine 5 years ago and it has the same leaking problem when it's filled with over a pint of water. I've found a way to get around this, which is to turn the kettle slightly until it makes a subtle click sound. This still won't stop the leak completely but has saved me from having to wipe the surfaces all the time. My other complaint with this model is that the water indicator is written in material so easy to be worn out - it became indistinguishable in a few months. Also the florescent lamp went out within weeks which I haven't bothered to replace.

Still I've been using this kettle for 5 years now and its performance is consistent, probably because I only use filtered water in it, but it has served its purpose for long enough hence 2 stars.

2 out of 5 stars Badly designed   December 16, 2008
D. Corlett (UK)
I think this is a very badly designed kettle. The water level indicator is underneath the handle so you can't easily see it while filling the kettle, plus it has no minimum amount marked on it - not very good for trying to save energy by boiling only the amount you need.

1 out of 5 stars If this kettle was a horse, I'd shoot it   August 26, 2008

Bought one a few months ago, the lid broke almost immediately... so I took it back, got another, which then started to leak... so I took it back and got another one, which has -- yup, you guessed it -- started to leak. Rubbish.
I'm going back to my beaten up old plastic Morphy Richards kettle, it might not look as smart as this one but it's 10 times better in terms of build and function. Avoid like the plague.
