We've has this kettle for a week. I looks good and works well - very easy to fill through the spout, boils quickly and pours beautifully. The down sides are that it is quite heavey (1.25kg) and the minimum amount of water on the scale is 500mls (although you can boil much less without problem). Desipte it's weight shape and position of the handle make it easy to manipulate.

After deliberation having looked at numerous kettles I chose this one. Good choice, extremely elegant and good price. Excellent quality but then Bosch is... very well made and easy to use. Fast boiling, good pouring and good handle. Only downside a little too noisy when boiling and slightly heavier than anticipated. Still don't think you will be disappointed. I wasn't and I can be very critical!

Excellent piece of kit, but heavy. Great for a blow to the head of a burglar.
Boils in a moment.
Update on 27 June 2008 - the thing has started leaking water and is to be returned under warranty. Perhaps bashing burglars may end up its main job after all, as warming water may result in death by electrocution.
Update on 2 July 2008 - Returned item to shop, they dont fix, money back, serviceable item bar leaking consigned to trash by shop. No wonder the planet is on it knees.

Having read the previous reviews on this page I was a little cautious when purchasing the kettle but due to past experience of Bosch products and backed up with Amazon's excellent refund policy I knew that if there was a problem then there wouldn't be a problem with returning it.
It's an excellent kettle with a large (1.7 L) capacity and an adjustable cord in the base unit. It boils very quickly and although isn't that quiet it doesn't have any problems with the metallic taste mentioned before. I assume that this means that Amazon has got a new stock without the problem...

Short and to the point, great kettle that looks good and boils quickly. No leaks or metallic taste as others have mentioned. The only minor negative, is that when it's full it is quite heavy.
