4 out of 5 stars Stylish and functional, with a couple of minor flaws   February 13, 2008

This is a nice little kettle, which works perfectly well and looks quite cool. My two little points are:

1. In order to not clog the filter, I fill through the top. It's quite finicky to take off, due to the fashionable design.
2. When filling, either way, the weight distribution of the kettle means it leans back. Not a problem in itself, but it does mean the water gauge under-reads, so that when you put it back on a level surface, you find you've overfilled it.

Tiny little points, though.

2 out of 5 stars hmmm think about it.   April 28, 2008

Had two in a year and both were ok to start then developed a fault with the switch. Amazon replaced first and are now refunding. So we are searching again for a simple kettle.

2 out of 5 stars Looks nice, but is short-lived   September 8, 2008

I have had this kettle for three years, and up until now it's been decent. It looks good and boils quickly. Recently though, the little window that's used to see the water level has started leaking. Fortunately, it's a well-designed kettle so the leaked water stays away from all the electrics. Three years, though, is not a great lifespan, which is why I've only awarded it two stars. Without the leak, it would be four, and I wouldn't be in the market for a new kettle.

1 out of 5 stars THIS KETTLE IS DANGEROUS!!!   October 31, 2008

It was fine for tea/coffee etc. BUT first time I used it to make instant gravy the size & angle of the spout caused the steam to scald my left thumb (ie whisking with left hand while pouring necessarily boiling water from kettle held in right hand). Replaced next day from High St. store and instigated return & refund from Amazon. On reflection, over-size spout and its angle in our opinion could make this kettle dangerous full stop. Note: we bought it not because it was cheap but because it looked the most similar to our old Rowenta. Couldn't be more different!

1 out of 5 stars Not bad, but it leaks   November 12, 2008

Hello, this is a nice kettle, simple and looks good. Not come across the scalding issue myself, but after three years also, our kettle is leaking too. Not a great lifespan, so I have to buy another type/design.
