I HAVE TO SAY THE PREVIOUS 3 REVIEWERS MUST BE THAT UNLUCKY WITH THEIR KETTLE, AS I GOT MINE 2 YEARS+ AGO AND I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT. YES, IT IS QUITE NOISY BUT THEN IT BOILS IN NO TIME. SO YOUR CUP OF TEA IS WORTH THE WAIT. THERE ARE NO RUST SPOTS WITH MY KETTLE.

Great design and build quality, boils quickly and nice to handle. Only downside might be that it's quite heavy when 1.7 litres full so those with weak wrists, elderly or infirm might be better off with a lighter kettle. Also auto switch-off seems a tad slow to react after boiling.
I understand what others say about it being noisy but hey, so was the Flying Scotsman under full steam! Enjoy.

only had this kettle for 8 months and the heating elements have gone in it
and it was an exspensive kettle and i will also get my trusted 5 kettle back out of the cupbord

We liked the look of this kettle and we liked the concealed element inside. The pop up lid was also an attractive feature. The kettle was noisy but the most disappointing factor was the rust spots inside which appeared after just a few weeks of use. After getting a replacement, the second kettle began to rust around the rim. There didn't seem much point in trying for a third so we chose a different brand.

Purchased my Tefal vitesse kettle just under 2 years ago along with an Avanti toaster. The toaster does not toast a full slice of bread, and the kettle lid jams open. I was prepared to live with the poor toaster, but the kettle (which was one of the most expensive)should not have failed just after the years guarantee had run out. I have been pleased with Tefal products in the past, but no longer. The old Cookworks 5 kettle will have to come out again.
