FAB! January 19, 2008 Nimblepixie (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great kettle. We bought this to replace a dire Krups kettle and so far couldn't be happier. It's as quiet as a mouse, unlike the Krups kettle the Quick-Boil feature is actually quick. We don't bother with the keep-warm feature. Anyone who drinks real tea knowns the water has to be boiling. The keep-warm is handy for coffee though. Buy it, you won't regret it.
Flawed design February 2, 2008 J0n G (Oxford, England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pretty colours, heats the water quickly, has a "keep warm" feature (press the button and it will keep the water near boiling point indefinitely) but one design flaw. The lid tends to pop up by itself when the kettle boils and sometimes won't stay closed until the kettle has cooled.
Good kettle - but doesn't stand test of time! August 22, 2008 Alexander Zaremba (Chafford, Essex) I bought this kettle when I moved into my new house 2 years ago. Have had no problems with it until earlier this week when the fuse blew. Attempts to replace the fuse have just resulted in the same fault occurring (it flips the trip switch too). Very annoying as have been very happy with this product up till now. I never had a problem with the lid not shutting (or opening suddenly during pouring) and it boils very quickly and quietly. The lights are a nice gimmick.
Died in a year July 16, 2008 Eoan Kerr (Glasgow, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this kettle just over a year ago and all seemed fine. There was no problem with the lid opening that other reviewers have experienced. The keep warm function was a bit of a gimic, esp since it didn't keep it warm at a temperature you could reusue comfortably. It actually just got annoying when someone used it as you knew you were just wasting energy. Our issue was the other night, my partner had switched the kettle on to boil, heard a bang and now the kettle will not boil. The light still switches on, so the fuse in the plug must be ok. I can only imagine it's the element or the switch that's broken. :( Not under warranty after a year. :(
Don't buy!! July 9, 2008 L. Roberts (Benfleet, Essex.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this kettle just over a year ago. At first it was great, it boiled quickly and quietly. But like the other reviews, it scaled very quickly and was difficult to clean. And sometimes we had to thump the lid to make it stay down! Now the kettle keeps blowing every new fuse we put in it (and shorting out our electricity at the same time!). And of course, it is about one week out of guarantee. I'm off to buy a new kettle, not a Breville this time.
