Does the biz! July 31, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
For me, this was a replacement for the classic Tefal Vitesse kettle (a great design, but unfortunately the element in mine packed up after only 8 months). The Kenwood JK530 has all the features one might require in a kettle and it looks good, too, with clean, simple lines. The plastic-cased design is cool-to-the-touch unlike stainless steel. It features a large capacity 1.7 litre (3 pints) body - great for boiling large volumes of water (pasta in a hurry for instance!). It features a powerful 3KW rapid heating element, which is quieter in operation than many and is concealed, so is easy to keep clean. It's a cordless design on a 360deg rotating base, which means less fiddling about when trying to juggle multiple tasks in the kitchen and it has a simple mesh filter incorporated into the spout to reduce scaling. The water indicator viewing panel on the side works well. The only minor niggle I have is that the spout is a little narrow leading to some spilling both on filling from the tap and on pouring. So far I'm happy... 4 out of 5!!!
