1/After reading the other 2 reviews I was a little worried as I had already ordered this kettle. However I should not have been concerned. The kettle is not at all noisy, and boils incredibly quickly. Such a smart design too! Recommended
2/My wonderful Bosch kettle has now become a disappointment to me. After 8 months of use I am still more than happy with its performance, but the lid has now snapped off. I contacted Bosch who were most discourteous, even rude. They merely sent me a replacement lid, no instructions on how to replace it and the screws holding the lid are not a standard screwdriver fitting and are virtually impossible to reach anyway. No offer of sending an engineer to fit it and if I need a replacement I have to go back to the retailer!
Most disgruntled.

The appearance of this leaves the competition in the 70's. It has a relatively small base which may explain why its wattage is 2000 to 2400 Watts whereas most kettles are 3000 Watts so it boils a little slower. I find most kettles cumbersome and awkward to lift however the long handle with a rubbery texture is brilliant. A two year warranty means any troubles and you're not left high and dry, excuse the pun. My only compaint is that it takes ages to switch off when it seems to me that boiling point was reached 10 seconds ago, not very environmentally friendly.

Great kettle, great looks, feels chunky and well put together.
Works really well, but...............
8 months in, the lid snapped off, not so good for such a premium product:(

The Bosch Solitaire is an attractive kettle, it boils quickly and is easy to keep clean but I've only had mine 8 months and the lid just snapped off. Reading the other reviews here that have suffered the same, it looks like a definite design fault. I'd expect better from Bosch.

Great looks, boils lots of water in no time. Perfect until the lid fell off! Based on other reviews, this seems to be a typical problem, so replaced it with a different make.
