4 out of 5 stars Great looking Kettle so far so good............   November 10, 2008

I bourght this kettle because I was sick of throwing away cheap kettles after six months and this looked amazing. To be honest after reading the reviews below I was a bit worried about what might be in store for me. So I emailed the manufacturer to enquire about these problems and they said there was an issue but they have recalled the effected products. I'v had this kettle since March and all seems to be going well! Great looking product

1 out of 5 stars Dangerous faulty design   February 27, 2007

I had to change this kettle three times and the same fault each time... leaking water from the handle/water indicator onto the 'on' switch. Came back to a flooded work top!It is a pity because it looks great but who wants a leaking kettle.... Not me! and at such a high price tag. I am writing to the company as in my view this product is dangerous and should be removed from the shelves and the problem sorted. I cannot believe that they are not aware of this design fault. The one star is for its stylish looks but for display only! So 'pretty' useless!

1 out of 5 stars Rubbish - avoid!   April 12, 2007

We have had the toaster and kettle (in blue) for a year and a half. The original toaster broke after two weeks, the heating elements stopped workking on the inside (okay for one sided toast). The replacement toaster has just broken again with the same fault.

The kettle leaks water from the on / off switch which can be hot if it has just boiled (how unsafe is that!), and has badly corroded around the viewing window for the water level.

Whilst the product looks nice, build quality is poor, to the point where I am now going to bin both and by something else.

Look elsewhere is my advice!

1 out of 5 stars Nice lookin' kettle, but looks ain't everythin'   June 17, 2007

Unlike the other reviewers, I haven't had leaks from the kettle, but what I have found is that the spout design means that you should avoid pouring water from the kettle when it's still boiling as it sometimes lobs scalding water out of the end and there's just not much control over the water flow from the spout. There is also too much steam round the handle-this is positively the first kettle I've had in a long long time that does this (I thought this had been designed out years ago) and it makes me super sensitive about scalding my hand (which it has come close to doing a couple of times). Needs a whole redesign this.

1 out of 5 stars Prestige leaks!   July 11, 2007

This is a nicely designed kettle, and seems solidly built, but the rubber gasket around the back level indicator just doesn't stand up to the heat (literally!). You would think they would have discovered this through stress testing and then switched to a more robust rubber, or protected it from the heat better.

We've had ours for 7 months, using it about once a day. The leak started 1 month ago.
