So Far So Good February 23, 2008 J. Chippindale (England) 15 out of 21 found this review helpful
e don't seem to have a lot of luck with kettles in our house, but there are four of us and it is rarely off. 18 months is the typical life per kettle. This one is stylish, with one or two novel extras. There is a push button mechanism to open the lid. If anything is going to go wrong I think it will be this and have told everybody to fill it through the spout, which is a generous one and the kettle can easily be filled this way without any trouble. The kettle has a large clear panel on the side which allows you to see how much water is in the kettle. It is measured in two cup, four cup etc. and is easy to read unlike many. When the kettle is on this window lights up in a handsome psychedelic blue light. Another novelty, but useful as well, is when the kettle has boiled it whistles. Most important of all, at least to the missus, it's cream and matches the kitchen, hooray. All in all a handsome kettle that does its job well. Ask me again in 18 months.
reliable and robust August 13, 2008 sally (England) I'm happy with this kettle. I spent a while opening the lids of kettles(!) and found this to be the easiest - the button at the top of the handle flips it up easily, whereas lots needed loads of force. It's light, the scale on the side is clear and measured in cups which is more useful than mls. The whistle wasn't useful and was switched off easily. It doesn't boil any longer than my previous kettle, a very noisy morphy richards.
Wallpaper stripping March 11, 2008 Giraffe (UK) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
+ Pours well + Not heavy to carry + fast and quiet boiling + electronic 'whistle' (can be switched of if not required) + blue light inside looks good - Boils for quite a few seconds before switching off (hence the wallpaper stripping). To be honest I'm not sure if this is a fault. I've moved the kettle location away from the kitchen units because I'm worried about the steam damaging them. Overall it is a good kettle with many characteristics to recommend it. Just wish it would switch off sooner.
Stylish and Useful March 25, 2008 Belinda (London) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I sifted through loads of reviews on kettles before I bought this one - I wanted something that looked a bit stylish but was also a good kettle. A lot of the nice looking ones seem to not work very well. Im very pleased with this one - and the whistle is not a loud harsh one either - like my past kettle! All in all, Im very pleased I bought it.
Awful Kettle April 26, 2008 Aiden Holmes (Portsmouth, Hants) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This kettle is terrible not only does it leak but the `chrome effect' handle wore completely after three months of use. I would not recommend this for anyone, it seems quite difficult to purchase a kettle (well for me anyway) that lasts for longer than a year. The best one I have ever had was a gas kettle from the US. I think I might try a Wesco one of these...
