Don't hesitate! This little beauty is a must in any health-conscious kitchen. Compact size, robust, easy to use. very easy to clean too.
If, like me, you're new to the whole idea of making and drinking smoothies, then this is the best way to start. Prepare to be converted to the smoothies craze! It's a very healthy - and tasteful - way to get your daily five portions of fresh wholesome fruit and vegetables - not to mention drinks, nuts, yoghurts, and the rest. I now find that I can include many items in my daily diet that I would not even have previously considered - small pieces of celery and raw broccoli go down just find when they're part of a smoothie including delicious fruits and fresh yoghurt! And, like me, you can make up your own recipes as you go along, endless possibilities.
Also, great for those on a diet to eat more fruit and vegetables in a delicious, convenient way. And also for those on a budget, a good way to cut out the expensive cravings for junk food, and to reduce the groceries bill.
Any downsides? Well, yes, it is loud when it's operating - but it only needs to be switched on for about 20 seconds or 30 seconds at a time if that - so that's no real problem. Also, 0.5 litre capacity is just fine for one or two people, but those with a larger family may consider this to be rather small for their needs. (Note: two jugs of 0.5 litre capacity each are provided, so it's easy for your other half to make a second smoothie).
Also, an essential starter ingredient in any smoothie has to be four or five ice cubes - so make sure your kitchen has a fridge compartment that can make ice cubes before you buy this!
Highly recommended. Those working outdoors or in offices during the day may also consider keeping their morning smoothies cool at work by purchasing something like the Thermos Work Series Stainless Steel Flask, or similar.

I have had several smoothie machines in the past, and found them noisy, cumbersome, and difficult to wash up. They often had trouble properly breaking up ice and frozen ingredients, and the tap would invariably clog up.
Not so with this innovative lttle gadget from Kenwood. The blending action is wonderfully fast, and efficient, making quick work of frozen ingredients,and the pieces are very easy to wash and disassemble. The receptacle in which the ingredients are blended is also the cup that can be taken away with the smoothie in it - the blades screw on and can be replaces by leak-proof cap. The idea of being able to take the smoothie away, undecanted, for speed and, more importantly, reduction of washing up, is genius. Even better, there are two cups provided, so if there are two of you, you can both make a smoothie before work.
I am one of nature's late risers, and getting up is timed to the last possible second; I can make a smoothie in about two minutes. This is the quick and easy smoothie maker I have always dreamed of.

I never thought my first customer review would be about a smoothie maker, but I think you'll forgive me for thinking that no smoothie maker would ever be worth writing about.
This smoothie maker will not, of course, change your life. But it will make you forget all those horribly awkward previous incarnations that got used once every six months. You know the ones: dishwasher safe but too big to fit in the dishwasher; quickly became scummy around seals and spouts.
If you've always wanted to convince yourself that you live a healthy lifestyle by making smoothies in the morning (like me), this is the gadget for you.
Dead easy to use, dead easy to clean, won't break the bank.
And of course it's loud: it's a smoothie maker - it blends fruit with a super-fast-blade-thing. If you'd prefer to stare at your fruit and hope that it turns from solid to liquid, then I wish you the best of luck.

What a great idea from Kenwood! I love this machine! I have had a few smoothie machines and found them heavy, hard to dismantle and clean etc etc. This one is so easy to use, just stick your ingredients in the jug, stick the blade on and wizz, then put the leak proof lid on and go! So simple. I find I need to take it off the base sometimes, give it a quick shake and wizz again, just because if you use thick ingredients like yoghurt/ banana etc it sometimes needs a shake because the whole thing is upside down as it were, but this takes seconds as it is so easy to do! I'm thinking of getting a second one so that I can have four beakers (one for each member of the family) and then I can put the base away for when this one finally gives up! It's easy to clean, robust, and works well. It really is the best smoothie maker i've ever seen or used.

Fantastic equipment for enjoying smoothie life!
My diet is raw vegan & macrobiotic, which I have practiced for all of my life since I was born. To be honest, I am strict, prudent and cautious to select everything related my diet.
Before finding this on this web site, I was searching for smoothie machines very much, which could satisfy me.
Eventually easy treatment such as washing and keeping in a small place in the kitchen is a decisive factor to have bought it.
My decision was right. I have been able to enjoy smoothie easily almost every day while I am spending in quite tight schedule.
I hope more people enjoy smoothie diet in this wonderful machine.
