A firm favourite in the kitchen December 4, 2007 Rustic1 40 out of 40 found this review helpful
Having hesitated over buying a slow cooker for ages, I finally decided to go ahead. As soon as I saw this cream one it became a "must have" and have no regrets.
Although slightly more expensive than the stainless steel version, it looks good, the cream and warm grey is a homely combination fits well in my country kitchen, there's no problem in having it on permanent display - no hiding it away in a cupboard and forgotten, and it's just the right size for my needs. I can make basic soups and stews, with one meal now and freeze 2-4 single portions for another day.
It has taken some getting used to, being quite the opposite to a microwave for speed, so planning well in advance is essential.
This slow cooker has become a firm favourite and highly recommended.

I had never used a slow cooker before last week but I was given a small one. So pleased with it, I decided to buy a larger one. It arrived as promised within 24 hours, "thank you Amazon". I tried it for the first time on Friday. I halved the recipe and still had enough for 3 meals. (I live on my own). I now have meals in the freezer for another day. My advice to any one thinking of buying a slow cooker would be go ahead. Buy a larger size than you would normally, you can only save money in the long term.
Couldn't live without it March 14, 2007 Mister Hobgoblin (Melbourne) 45 out of 46 found this review helpful
This Morphy Richards stainless steel slow cooker has completely changed my life!
I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who doesn't feel up to cooking properly after a long day's work. Just allow yourself fifteen extra minutes or so in the morning to set things up, and in the evening you'll have a freshly cooked meal: your Slow Cooker does the work for you! Amazing! No more making do with a pizza or a curry. Get back in control of the ingredients and of your lifestyle! And the cream finish just works so well in a modern kitchen that doesn't have a stainless steel theme. Thank you, Morphy Richards!

Never having used or seen a slow cooker before, an office colleague (male) said they were so easy, even he could use it and that it could be left on overnight to cook a pot roast for Sunday dinner or first thing in the morning to have dinner ready for the evening coming home.
I thought I'd try out this marvel and ordered from Amazon. It was delivered on free postage within about 3 days - fantastic. Have already cooked a beef casserole in it which fed 4 adults, with enough left over for lunch for 3 adults the next day. Family raved about the flavour - absolutely fantastic, yet the ingredients were exactly the same as used the previous week to make casserole on the stove. It took 15 minutes to chop the vegetables and brown the meat in the frying pan, then just left it to cook away by itself - no problem, no watching the stove, no unable to go out and leave the stove on! Cooked minced beef and vegetables today - another rave and the baby gobbled it up too. Big thumbs up - wish I'd got one years ago!!!!
Bit Smaller Than You Might Think - Check Before You Buy April 30, 2008 C. R. Downing (Chippenham, Wilts England) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I was looking for a bigger slow cooker than the 2 litre one I already had. (My USA slow cooker book recommended a larger one so that you could cook for the freezer.) Well this one seemed twice the size - but it's still not what I'd call big. What I'd recommend you do is to fill a suacepan with water and measure what 3.5 litres actually looks like and whether you need an even bigger one. In this cooker 3.5 litres is nearly to the top of the bowl and some recipes can be a bit bulky until they have cooked a while. This one might be fine for a family of four or as one of a pair (you'll soon realise that two slow cookers is what you'll need for a dinner and a pudding or extra side dishes).
So I got the size a bit wrong - but everything else is really good - three heat levels, nice colour that blends into the kitchen, glass lid so you can see in. Works just great and the 3 settings allow you to adjust the cooking duration.
Try the water trick before you buy.
