This is just a perfect little cooker March 19, 2009 Soton_Kav (Southampton, Hampshire UK) 59 out of 59 found this review helpful
I bought this because I was looking for a slow cooker capable of cooking smaller amounts of food than my existing Tower Slo-cooker, which has a capacity of 3.5 litres. Apart from the dog, I'm the only meat eater in the house so, while the bigger slo-cooker is great for those family meals, I wanted something that would cook MY dinners and not have so much leftover that I was eating the same thing for days afterwards!
This little cooker is brilliant! The white ceramic pot is glazed all over - including the bottom - so it's very easy to keep clean. It takes up next to no space in our small and crowded kitchen and the glass lid means you can see how your dinner is getting along. It cooks perfect roast beef and porrige made with water is so creamy you'd think it was made with full cream milk.
I know the product info says it is 1.5L but actually I think it's smaller than that but having said that, I can still squeeze a 1kg brisket into it, so I don't care. Also, be a little wary of the cookbook that comes with it because I think they've got some of their ingredient quntities wrong. I don't care about that either as there are literally loads of slo cook recipes available for free in the net.
If you're after a slo cooker capable of doing no more than four portions at a time, that you can load up, forget about it, and just get on with your day then this is for you. If you have many mouths to feed then you should go for something bigger. For my part, I love it and I use it 2 or 3 times a week.
Slow Cooker - Ideal for one or two people March 8, 2009 deborahw (UK) 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
This slow cooker is ideal for one or two people, and because of it's compact size is perfect to leave on the worktop - so you can use it! I also bought the book 'slow cooking for yourself' and it's got some great ideas. The only criticism I would have is that it doesn't have a timer (but this is easily solved if you plug it into a timer). It's great to come home from work and have dinner ready.
hinari slow cooker March 1, 2009 sued (UK) 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
This slow cooker is fab if you are cooking for one. the problem i always had i could hardly cover the bottom of the dish in a normal size cooker making food more prone to drying out, have tried curries and stews and even dumpings a one pot meal my kind of cooking and it is small enough to fit neatly in a corner of my work tops.

Hinari HSC008 1.5L Slow Cooker - white
This really works very well. There is a useful manual with quite a few good recipes, though they are geared to a larger model I think, but you can just cut the ingredients. Once this cooker gets going it does an almost invisible simmer on Low , and a gentle simmer on High. I tried it with chicken and vegetables and they were delicious, with the meat falling off the bone. I was driven to buy a slow cooker because I have been living on ready meals since I retired but now find I can't get the food I want (eg no battery chicken, low calorie, low fat etc) from ready meals, and I will just have to cook it myself. This item has converted me to slow cooking. It is really easy with no burnt pans. It is useful there is an indicator light because not all models have the. I am planning all sorts of menus now. A good buy.
Perfect for 2 March 29, 2009 Old hippy chick (Norwich, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I needed a small slow cooker for use in my caravan & this fits the bill. Larger ones are great for when you want to freeze leftovers but not for when you just want the one meal. It is lightweight, compact in size & simple to use & holds enough food for two. A real bargain for the price!
