5 out of 5 stars Magimix Le Glacier 1.1 Ltr ice cream maker   June 16, 2008

Great little machine. Simplicity is the art of design and this is it. Every part disassembles and reassembles with the minimum of effort; just a gentle click. Cleaning is therefore a doddle as is using this machine. Just follow the instructions, i.e. pre-freeze, make a mix which takes little time and effort and pour into the machine whilst it is running. The tastiest, freshest ice cream is the result with no preservatives, colouring or flavouring. You can even use skimmed milk and that special sugar with virtually no calories if you want to. How can anyone have a problem with that?

I have the larger version of this machine and have found that it makes excellent ice cream. Not sure why the other reviewer found it so bad. I've not had any problems with it.

4 out of 5 stars Gallons of ice cream!   December 11, 2006

This ice-cream maker is really easy to use. It is true that the parts are a little clumsy, but with only 5 components it really isn't difficult to put together. If I was buying again I would purchase the larger version, though obviously this would take up more room in the freezer. We have made literally gallons and gallons of ice cream and visitors are never disappointed- it's the easiest dessert to make with a little prior organisation. The important thing is to get your freezer cold enough (we freeze the bowl for at least 12 hours at -25C.) The recipes that come with it are not very good- get the Ben & Jerry's ice-cream book.

parts simple and easy to assemble (I thought so anyway!) Bought for me as a birthday present and have used it seven times for different types of ice creams - some of which were ready in as little as 10-12 mins depending on thickness of mix. Word of warning - I got the large one (1.5l) initially but only having a drawer type freezer the bowl would not fit in - and it has to be upright. The smaller version still makes plenty though. Very good value for the price, and easy to make ice cream far superior to H..an D..s or B&Js.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty good piece of kit for the price   July 8, 2008

Assembly took a little bit of getting used to the first time I used it, but have had no problems since. The trick is to ensure that the lid has clocked into place and that the motor is running BEFORE the mix is added. I found that using a funnel was the easiest and least messy way of pouring the mix through the hole in the lid.

Homemade ice cream tastes AMAZING - overall am v pleased with purchase!
