This is a great piece of equipment and a pleasure to use.

I do agree with "J. Valters" though, there should have been some recipes included but that doesn't prevent 5 stars for design, ease of use and price.

I always kept meaning to buy a waffle iron and I finally got around to it.
After looking at various models and comparing prices I opted for the DeLonghi WR30.

Upon first inspection this is a very stylish and slimline machine.
Having used many similar kinds of appliances before, I was able to use it without any bother, considering there was not an instruction booklet provided, which seems unhelpful for people when first using this product.
Armed with a good waffle recipe they turned out perfectly, nice and crisp, cooked in 4 1/2 minutes without any mess. The only advice I would give to new users is:

Do not over fill the waffle compartment; 1 tablespoon of Batter in each section of the waffle plate is ample.
Lightly oil top and bottom of plates before heating and after each waffle is cooked.
Cook 4 1/2 to 5 minutes for a nice crispy waffle. Works great with sweet and savoury kinds.
Have a good waffle recipe to start you off. The waffle and pancake book suggested when you buy this product is excellent.
Overall opinion is that this is an excellent machine that I would recommend without having to spend a hefty price and great waffles it makes too, yum yum!!

I have been searching for a waffle maker for a while now, but didn't really want to spend upwards of 50 on all the others I had seen.

I came across this waffle maker on another website, but costing 35 plus delivery, so when I saw the exact same model on Amazon for a lot less, I snapped it up.

Looks wise it is very contemporary, it wouldn't look out of place in even the most modern of kitchens. It is very simple to use, just plug it in, set your crispiness setting and add your mix.

The only downside is that there is no recipe advice/suggestions within the box, but I'm just using pancake mix and that produces a good enough waffle so far

4 out of 5 stars Faultless Waffles!!   April 19, 2008

A great machine that only gets four stars for coming without the remotest hint of a recipe and it took forever to find a really good one - there are plenty of mushy waffle recipes out there, but finding a good crispy one took some time!! If you want to make really easy waffles - this is the one and they can be frozen once cold and toasted to revive them - a great instant snack/breakfast.

2 out of 5 stars It looks like a waffle, it smells like a waffle (sort of) but it doesn't taste like a waffle.   August 3, 2008

As a keen cook, I acquired this waffle iron envisisioning great waffles to accompany a good coffee. However I was disappointed to find that this waffle iron doesn't produce waffles comparable to something you would find served with icecream. I know you may be thinking that I needed to find the right recipe, but trust me I tweaked recipes constantly to get the waffle right. The main problem with this waffle iron is that when you apply your waffle dough and start cooking the waffle, this machine inexplicably starts ommitting steam. It steam cooks your waffle, leaving it flacid and tasteless, as the dough soaks up the condensation. The heat dial at the front fills with steam ! It would be like cooking a crepe in hot water instead of frying in some butter. It would be like boiling doughnuts. In the end my only solution to this problem was to make the waffles and then putting them in caramel to give them some crispness. Ultimately I sold it on. I am now seeking a professional waffle iron, does anyone have any suggestions? I am reluctant to purchase one of those irons you find at a Ben and Jerry's outlet but I'm seeking the same results.
