Not cheap and nasty - a joy! November 18, 2008 M. Hodgson (London, UK) I'm sorry but I think A.M.Kenny above must be reviewing the wrong product. There isn't a black coating on the outside. These are hard-anodised aluminium: there's no coating on the outside and there wouldn't be a dull silver look. The outside can stain a bit if you're not careful, but I'm not over-bothered about that since it's not that bad and most importantly the non-stick inside stays in much much better shape than any other pan I've used. (As a caveat I'd add that obviously non-stick requires a bit more care than a normal pan - i.e. not using abrasive items on it e.g. metal utensils - and personally I wouldn't use washing-up brushes or hard-core chemical cleaning products but then again you shouldn't have to - a j-cloth and soapy water do the trick perfectly.) I'm moved to post a review in response to the above simply because I'm passionate about these pans. In fact the reason I'm here is to buy more as a house-warming present for a friend. I got to this page and just couldn't believe the review. I bought mine having used them a lot at a friends and being really impressed. They're fantastic quality and I'd recommend them to anyone. I've been using mine for years and they are still in brilliant condition. They cook well and as I say the non-stick is much much longer-lasting than any other pan I've used. (I bought a Stellar frying pan some time after my Anolon set and was very disappointed by how quickly the non-stick gave up the ghost while the older and more used Anolons are still as good as new.) As I say, from both my and my friends direct experience of these I can't believe you are reviewing the right pans - either you're reviewing a different set or perhaps you've been sold the wrong or fake pans. I'm sorry but these are in no way cheap or nasty. I know it's a bit weird to be passionate about cooking equipment but I love these pans: they make cooking a joy. P.S. The other cooking utensil I'm passionate about is the Le Creuset garlic press, a triumph of easy clean design, but they seem impossible to get hold of now. If anyone knows of somewhere that does them, please, please, please let me know.

Very Very Disapointed. all the Black coating on the outside has come off leaving a dull silver, stained look. Frying pan and wok are rubbish. I'll never buy this make again
