5 out of 5 stars These pans have everything you could want from a pan!   July 18, 2008

Initially i saw the 'Imperial Intwo' range at Dunelm Mill (same manufactuer as 'Arc 42') and bought the 20cm Intwo pan, thinking this 'no need for a colander' feature was so cool! But it didn't have a fully rubber/silcone handle and lid top so I thought i'd just check the Imperial website to see if there was anything that did. There I spotted the Arc 42 range and read the sales patter for it. Basically I prefer pans that have a rubber handle, cos I just like the feel and grip effect, so although I liked the Intwo range (with the silicone grip just underneath the handle but not really on the lid handle, I wanted more! Then I spotted a 3 piece arc 42 set on the Argos site for 49.99 so I reserved it and picked them up today. Got them home and they're fantastic. The features are just do well designed and it's like someone's actually put some thought in to the funtionality for a change. They have everything I would want: Ergonomic, silicone, nicely shaped handles; see through glass lids; measuring quantities inside, in pints and litres, pouring lip, non stick (albeit platinum as in 'Platinum coated' 'non stick' interior, which just looks like stainless steel inside) and they're also designed in Britain! I normally go for 'non stick' in cookware and so I'm a little dubious of the shiny finish that doesn't seem 'non stick' but I'm thinking... it can't be that bad if Gary Rhodes endorses the range? + when you see chefs cooking, they always seem to have shiny stainless steel interiors to their pans? So to sum up, I think they're great and there were no reviews on them so I thought I'd add one. Now I'm looking forward to all the risottos, pasta etc. etc. I'm going to cook in my fight against being lazy and resorting to take away's all the time!
