How fast is that.....? November 15, 2003 50 out of 50 found this review helpful
OK so I love Coffee! Not instant stuff though, the real thing! For 3 years now I’ve been grinding coffee by hand, trying to “perfect” that blend of beans. Then I received an Amazon gift voucher for my birthday and decided NOW I’m getting this grinder. a) Ease of use; Trust me… it couldn’t be simpler b) Speed; Need I say more, this thing is fast! c) Texture; The selection of how fine you want it to grind is VERY simple to use. You can grind for your cafetiere, coffee filter and espresso maker, all with different coarseness. d) Results; it now gives the perfect grinded coffee beans e) Noise; this grinder is surprisingly quite! What will I change? Well nothing apart from maybe the addition of an espresso “compactor” or automated dispenser. But these are features for more industrial type grinders anyway which will add to the price. At over 50 this might at 1st not look like the very best value for money as you can buy 25 grinders in some shops. I’ve done my homework and I believe this is by far the best value for money/performance you can currently buy. The grinder offers superior qualities like a “stone” grind protector for when those little stones that find their way into the beans might enter the grinder. Great feature! If you love coffee and you are in the market for a grinder, this is the one you want!
Probably the best at this price May 2, 2006 Andrew Elliott (Derbyshire, UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have had this grinder for about three years and have been very happy with it. I have found it capable of grinding beans down to a very fine degree; sufficient to produce a very good crema on an espresso. Yes, there is a little static that causes some grains of coffee to stick to the container; and you know when it is doing its job by the noise it makes - but I have not found these inconvenient or annoying. One thing that does set it apart from many other grinders is the generous aperture of the bean hopper; it makes pouring in the beans easy and fuss-free.
Couldn't ask for any more from a grinder April 6, 2004 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I had owned my Gaggia Coffee Deluxe for a few months before investing in this grinder, previously I had been using a blade grinder and pre-ground coffee. My results were quite good but I knew the machine was capable of more so I decided to research grinders. I had it narrowed down to the Gaggia MM or this one in the end and the spec of the Dualit seemed much better. After using it now for a couple of months I can say I made the right choice. The grind is extremely uniform and I find the second finest setting gives me a good 20 second shot with an amazing crema every time.
Does exactly what it says on the box.... November 13, 2003 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This coffee grinder may not be cheap but it is one of the best, I've had one now for a few months with no problems at all, The coffee comes out uniformally grounded from fine to coarse, The choice is yours from the adjustable "metal" grinding wheels....Oh there is one small point, Don't touch the metal pins of your plug when removing it from the socket just after grinding, You get a kick similar to the shocks off car doors....?????
Best coffee May 25, 2003 Mr. T. Russell (Edinburgh, Scotland) 38 out of 40 found this review helpful
I was given this as a present. Excellent grinder that is adjustable to grinding for all methods of preparation. Even the little container for the ground coffee is well designed and the ground coffee ends up in it and doesn't shoot all over the place as in some other grinders I've used. The hopper takes 250g of beans at once. Overall, an excellent, well designed grinder. Highly recommended.
