| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Tap water is safe to drink because it is regulated and controlled by the local water authorities. Nevertheless pipelines, some of which are old and obsolete, may release undesirable substances. These, together with the chlorine, which prevents bacteria growth, may affect the appearance and taste of the tap water.
Filtered water using a jug and cartridge system has been drunk daily in Europe for more than 30 years, by approximately 50 million people.
The most practical and cost effective way to filter water and reduce limescale, chlorine, lead, zinc, copper, some pesticides and herbicides, whilst maintaining the essential elements such as calcium and magnesium, giving water an excellent taste and appearance, is to use a LAICA water filtering system with jug and cartridge.
5 stage filtration (see product image)
The key part of the system is the cartridge. It contains activated carbon and ion-exchange resin which are very effective in reducing undesirable substances in tap water.
Why choose a LAICA Water Filter / Cartridge?
CONVENIENCE - Water always available, no need to carry heavy bottles.
COST EFFECTIVE - The water filtered using LAICA cartridges costs only a few cents/pence per litre.
TASTE - Water filters greatly improve the appearance and taste of water e.g. hot & cold drinks and food preparation.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - A water filter helps the environment as it reduces pollution i.e. transportation and the disposal of empty plastic bottles.

This is better, affordable to all and works fine! August 21, 2009 A. L. L. Jimenez-montas (London,England) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have only come accross LAICA filters this year. It works better than the Kenwood that I used for years. It is also cheaper. The quality of the water is fine and very little after-taste.
I have only been using this product for a few months now. And it is a good value for money product that I can well endorse.
That's it. Bye!

High quality, and filling a gap in the market May 9, 2010 Colin Roth (Sheffield, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Those with Kenwood and other water filters that aren't Brita may, like me, have been relying on Brita's 'universal' filters for some time, because they were much easier to find than the other brands. But a while ago Brita stopped selling 'universal' filters, presumably assuming that they'd be able to sell one of their own jugs to all the people who had been left stranded.
Now Laica have stepped up, and their product offers quality which is just as good as any other filter I've used before. I should say, particularly as it's been mentioned as a problem in another review, that Brita filters also 'let through' quite a lot of water the first few times they're used; if you follow the instructions on the packaging, and soak the filter in water for a while first, then go through a couple of complete cycles before you use the filtered water, these Laica filters behave just like the now unavailable Brita ones, and quickly 'slow down' as the filter-filling swells with use.
The non-Brita jug community can feel confident that this is a thoroughly reliable substitute for their old brand, and resist Brita's attempt to completely dominate their market.
As good as the leading brand January 30, 2010 Thomas A. Auld 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Tried these as Britta are so expensive. Six in the pack, no problem there. They fit fine and the water tastes great, just like it did with Britta. No build up of lime scale in the kettle either. Recommended.
Great filters March 13, 2010 M. Jones (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great filters. I bought these filters to go in a filter jug I got from Lidl. They not only fit perfectly, the water takes longer to drip through these than it did the originals, which to me means it's taking more impurities out of the water. Our water out of the tap has a very strong smell of chlorine and these filters remove every trace of the smell.
Does what it says February 5, 2010 Mr. P. R. Beaves 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent value water filters, can't tell any difference in taste between these and much more expensive ones. Using them with Kenwood water filter jug.
