I bought this for my Mum as a birthday present as she loves Nigella's Living Kitchen. It arrived in a nice square box (easy to wrap!) well packed. The cake plate is much nicer in the flesh than the photo and won't look out of place on the worktop. The plate being pottery is cool to cold so would also be good as a cheese board. Very pleased with my purchase and I know my Mum will be too.

I bought one of these cake domes a couple of years ago now and i love using it. I bought the duck egg blue base which I think is nicer than the white/ cream colour shown. The dome itself is a great shape and height- good for storing cheese or cakes. The dome has that Nigella curvashious look to it, its something just to enjoy using.

Beautiful to look at. Good size, great shape. The glass dome is big and is light in weight. Glass dome material is very thin and I am so afraid of shattering it when putting it over the cake plate. I guess it will be fine if one wants it to look pretty on display but to be actually lifting the dome & putting it down again ... hmmm.... Better to see and feel the actual item in John Lewis etc. first before buying it !! I should have done that !
Not best valueNovember 15, 2008 L. Taylor(England) A reasonable size and looks quite good on the shelf, but a very disappointing quality. Very thin glass and likely to end up broken very quickly. More the sort of thing I would expect from a Pound Shop - not what you expect to get for a designer price!
