| Customer Reviews: Original Miele bags and filters, they work beautifully. May 9, 2010 R. F. Stevens (Ickenham UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Finding the right bags of the right quality is becoming more difficult as high street retail outlets start to plug their 'Own Brand' replacements which are often inferior, or split or do not filter out all the dust and pollen.
Fortunately, the on-line sources including this one are up to the job, and these bags AND filters, being the Miele FJM sized originals, are excellent. Value for money is about right so long as they stay well under a tenner including VAT and post and packing. You can pay a lot less, but take the risk of splitting and more dust and pollen leaking through.
I'm not quite convinced by the claims for Miele's new self-seal flap-valve (sometimes doesn't close properly when the bag is overfull) on these Hyclean bags, but it works better than the original 'slide-shut with a pull' system.
Note there are four bags and both filters in the Hyclean boxes whereas there used to be five bags and both filters in the previous obsolete style being phased out.
They collect dust...well. June 19, 2010 S. Reynolds (South Wales) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Well, what else can you write in a review of dust bags? Like I must be so mind numbingly bored and lead such a miserable life to even bother to write this! So they do indeed work, they fit into Miele vacuum cleaners and collect all of the dust as they claim they do. Expensive, but then things that work properly often are. If you understand this principle you probably aren't reading this review as you would know the answer already...anyway I'm off to read my copy of Screwdriver Monthly....
Miele Dust Bags June 8, 2010 Mr. P. Huxley (North East) The bags do what they say on the box, no problems found, delivered in good time and condition
Don't fit my S251i even though FJM size May 30, 2010 Dr. K. E. Patrick (England) There's nothing worse than a hoover bag that won't fit, and these supposedly new and improved bags won't stay put in my S251i so that 50% of the time, I'm just hoovering junk into the cavity of my machine. What a mess!
Yes, I've got a S571 that I can plug in and hoover out the other hoover (you see the stupidity of it all, don't you?), and in this other machine, the bags seem to fit ok. They actually click into the housing on the 571, whereas on the 251, the bag's plastic square just slides in and out the housing.
I also don't like the little flappy gizmo that the hoover pipe pokes open when you close the canister -- I'm not sure it's always poking the flap open, and so the suction is poorer and the "full" indicator almost always says it's full, on both the 571 and the 251.
Give me the paper bags any day.
