Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars recommend this iron at the price I paid   May 26, 2008

I paid around 80 for this iron in November 07.

The iron is excellent, plenty of steam and makes light work of cotton and linen etc. Vertical steaming is easy and effective as well, particularly useful for polyester fabrics. Ideal for my regular ironing jobs.

Downside: There is no control over the steam, it is either on or off.

The volume of steam is such that I have had to purchase a regular iron for my dressmaking hobby as it would not be possible to make small creases using steam without burning my fingers.

Occasionally when the iron is first turned on some brown scale stains appear and I have learned to iron the darker things first and save the whites until the iron has been running for 10 mins.

Also, the iron is noisy when the pump comes on and off as I guess all of these types of iron are and so it would not be suitable to use in the livingroom whilst people are watching TV. It can make a damp patch on the floor beneath the ironing board as there is such a volume of steam and I do think you would need a mesh type ironing board.

At the price I paid I am very happy with the iron but if I were to buy another I would be looking for steam control and would probably have to pay a lot more.

Hope this helps you choose.

wonderful iron can't praise it highly enough. You only have to iron one side of school polo shirts and I have even been ironing bedding, not something I've done since I before I had kids, lol

5 out of 5 stars Buy it!   August 24, 2008

This is an excellent iron. When you read great reviews like this, you can sometimes be disappointed. If that happens when you buy this iron, use it for a week, and then use your old one again for even a few minutes. That will be enough to convince you that this is the future of ironing! I have been using GC7200 for about 8 months and am very impressed. The volume of steam is incredible and makes ironing very very easy. A few friends have used it too and have wanted to buy it.
