Kenwood IM 200 0.8 ltr Ice cream maker. July 15, 2007 J. J. Salloway (Shaw, Oldham, Lancashire.) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
After reading some of the reviews I was rather sceptical but my worries were unfounded! The first attempt to make ice cream turned out absolutely brilliantly! I made strawberry ice cream with strawberries, a carton of low fat strawberry yogurt, some double cream and sugar. It was delicious and the texture was just like 'bought' ice cream. (Why should we always compare it I wonder, as if 'bought' is the be all and end all!) As it made rather more than I had wanted for two people I put the rest in the freezer and when I took it out again (left it for a few minutes) the consistency was just as good. BUT - read the instructions and BE SURE to follow them! I think that some users have not done this! You must put in the mixture when the machine IS CHURNING - as instructed! And do not overfill.
good buy September 17, 2006 Sylvia (Lincolnshire) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have had one for some time now. Excellent, simple, but then I didn't have unrealistic expectations. I knew I had room in the freezer or I wouldn't have bought it. It mixes as it freezes and when it is done you eat the icecream. Just fine.
delicious ice cream July 29, 2007 D. A. Blandamer (Devon) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I will never buy readymade ice cream again! I was going to buy one of those big machines with the built in freezer, this takes up much less room, I have a big freezer so keep it frozen all the time, I wash mine up as soon as it's empty and pop it back into the freezer before it defrosts. My kids love the ice cream and no additives to send them crazy! Read instructions and don't overfill. At this price buy them for friends and family as christmas presents. Highly recommended.
Fantastic compact ice cream maker September 18, 2007 Ms. H. S. Kelton (Devon) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this product after recommendation from a friend who has recently bought one too and I am so pleased I did. This machine is fab and I would recommend one any one who loves proper ice cream. Thank goodness the ice cream that comes out of this tastes nothing like shop bought. The strawberry recipe on the instructions is delicious. I didnt have a problem washing the bowl when frozen like some did (just wash as normal and pop straight into the freezer)!. Yes the bit on the lid where you pour in the mixture is on the small side but just be careful and you'll have more lovely ice cream for later. Great if you have a small kitchen because the lid and paddle fit easily into a cupboard or drawer.
Kenwood IM 200 Ice Cream Maker February 16, 2008 J. Gibson (Scotland) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I wasn't sure which size to buy, but went for the smaller one (0.8 litre capacity) and found that it makes plenty for a family of four. So far I have tried recipes which contain cream and eggs so the ice cream is quite rich and you don't need huge portions - there is enough to serve as soon as it is made and then enough to freeze for another day. I find the machine is easy to clean and the bowl doesn't take up too much room in the freezer. There isn't much of a range of recipes with the instruction booklet, so it is worth getting an additional book of recipes. Shop-bought ice cream just doesn't compare, and as a mum I like the idea of eating freshly made ice cream with no artificial additives.
