Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars i swear by these   November 8, 2007

Did you follow the instructions when you tried these? You are supposed to throw away the first few jug-fulls of water that you filter.

Once the filter has been "worn in" the water tastes fine and certainly a lot better than the chlorinated water straight out of the tap!

5 out of 5 stars These even pass the "Mother" test ...   January 25, 2008

My mother has one of the fussiest palates on the planet - which is why she won't touch our tap water (which admittedly tastes as if it was thrown together in a chemistry lab ...). She thoroughly approves of these filters though. As long as you follow the instructions and ditch the first few jugsful (or is that jugfuls?) the water is absolutely fine.

3 out of 5 stars Slower than Brita filters   September 15, 2008
Bobbyzero (Leeds, UK)
I got two boxes of these Kenwood filters to use with my Brita kettle, and although they fit into the filter slot they are noticeably slower than the Brita branded cartridges.

If you compare the slots around the filter, the Brita ones have many more and will obviously let more water through in the same time. The Kenwood cartridges only have about 8 slots all the way round!

Most filter jugs have sloped sides to keep the water level above the wider top openings for as long as possible, however my kettle has quite a flat pre-filter reservoir, so with only one or two cups worth of water it takes a while before you're ready to go (it's not always convenient to fill the kettle in advance)

I'll be switching back to Brita once my supply of these runs out.
