This is the one! July 26, 2004 Guy Dunsterville 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
A long time ago, a Neapolitan friend introduced me to the morning ritual of espresso using this brilliant model. Just put the pot on the hob; but leave the lid open. Get an espresso cup and put 2 spoons of white sugar in. As the first drops emerge, pour into the cup. Close the lid and put back onto the hob to finish. While this happens, beat the sugar and the rich coffee until creamy! Then add the rest of the pot. Really really tasty - and almost impossible to achieve without a Bialletti.
A lifesaver November 22, 2007 MikeH (Edinburgh) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought one of these last year when they were reduced to 10. Best tenner I ever spent at Amazon. Makes great espresso for home made lattes etc. Its a great way to kick start the day on those sleepy winter monrings. One thing to bear in mind is that it gets very hot (burny, burny hot!) and I've made a mark on my kitchen surface by putting it down straight from the hob. Beware!
Fresh coffee on a saturday morning - what weekends were made for April 4, 2008 Mr. J. Wallace (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is quite possibly the most loved object I own. Everything about it oozes Italian class. From its aluminium exterior to its dinky little plastic handle. My mornings now fall in a standard routine of wake up, wash out the pot from the day before (laziness on my part) being careful to wash with hot water only as recommended by the manufacturer (this product actually improves the more you use it - when the metal is giving off coffee vibes from coffee adventures in bygone days), to loading up the filter with espresso coffee powder, setting it on the hob and waiting for the gurgling sounds of contented happiness. Then you know it's ready. Mmmm. Erm yeah I quite like this product. Does what it says on the box. Makes good coffee.
How did I manage without one! March 8, 2008 F. J. Oldfield (Cumbria, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Coffee at its best, what a difference and just as quick as boiling a kettle for nasty instant coffee! Why bother with anything else? Also easy to clean and be ready for next use, much less mess than other ways of making real coffee and so much cheaper than cumbersome expresso makers. Now I think its the only way to enjoy a good cup of coffee.
An excellent moka pot April 13, 2008 C. S. Koh (Cambridge, UK) I'm new to making coffee with moka pots, but the Moka Express has proven to be both simple and effective for the job. The 3 cup version only fills my mug to about the halfway mark, but given the strength of the moka coffee I don't think I'd be able to take much more - so I either add water to make a pseudo-Americano, or hot milk if I'm in the mood for a Latte. The Moka Express seems very sturdy and has not left an aluminium taste in even my first few cups of coffee. I look forward to putting this coffee pot to good use. The 3-cup size is good if you're only making coffee for yourself, or if you only want about 1 espresso shot for your drink.
