Makes wonderful coffee December 28, 2007 C. Thornton (Hampshire, UK) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This little machine and the separate frother make a great cup of coffee. You buy the coffee capsules from nespresso.com, and they work out at about 23p each - much cheaper than the 2.50 you would pay from Starbucks, and the coffee is just as good. It makes lattes, cappucinos and espressos. There are a multitude of different coffee strengths and flavours available, including some good de-cafs. Before discovering this machine, I bought a Nescafe Dolce Gusto and thought the coffee was awful. The two draw backs are now that I have this machine, it's spoilt me and I can't enjoy a 'normal' cup of instant coffee or one of the pre-mixed sachets any more, and every time someone comes to visit, they ask me for one of my great coffees. In fact since buying the machine, I've also bought one for the staff at work, my cousin's got one (she recommended it to me by insisting I taste one of it's lattes) and my mother in law is just about to buy one!
Great machine for the money January 20, 2008 S. Cubbage 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
There is a review here that gives the M100 just one star and says that the machine makes 'tepid' cofee that is undrinkable with milk added - what a complete load of nonsense. The M100 is a brilliant machine, it makes excellent espresso and when used with the Aeroccino makes excellent latte etc.. I previously owned a Gaggia Classic and whilst it made great espresso I have to say that the M100 is better and a lot less hassle. Buy one today, you won't regret it - unless you like scalding hot coffee that is!
The best coffee machine! February 4, 2008 Mrs. J. Thornton (UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Having tried several coffee machines in the past- La Pavoni espresso, magimix robot chef etc they are off to ebay because this machine is so much quicker and better! I bought it to keep on our boat but it's staying at home because it is so quick and easy to use. It's clean and fast and makes perfect espressos every time. I'm a latte fan and the aerocino that comes with it is great, so fast!Great for hot chocolates too. Yes the coffee is hot enough just make sure you warm the cup with the rinsing water. It's neat and compact so doesn't take up much space. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic little machine - no mess, great coffee April 30, 2008 AnnPan (London United Kingdom) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I once shared a flat with a friend who brought her traditional espresso machine to live with us. She was messy, and her machine was even messier. Hot milk spluttered everywhere and coffee grounds sat in drifts around my kitchen - it put me right off such machines. Now, many years later, my heart has been quite won over by this machine. It's tiny, wee, sits right next to my kettle and the whole time I'm out walking the dog each morning I think longingly about the coffee I'll have when I get home. Only trouble is I'm starting to have two coffees a day, sometimes even three.... and they are delicious. You just switch the power button on and it heats up in a minute or two, ready to go. Then you pop in a pod of ready-ground coffee, slip a cup under the spout and press go. With a little practice you'll know which of the many Nespresso coffees you prefer, how much water, whether you want milk and so on. Yes the pod system is a little pretentious - you join the Nespresso Club and order pods 50 at a time which are delivered to your home (so you have to have somewhere to store the boxes). But it does taste really fresh and it's hugely cheaper than a Starbucks habit. No mess, the aeroccino makes great latte or capuccino when you're in the mood, and it's hot but not too hot to drink straight away. I use the water from my water filter which (a) makes delicious coffee (London water is too hard to make really nice coffee) and (b) means I don't have to descale my machine. It's incredibly easy to refill the water supply and clean out the old coffee pods - I just wish I could find an easy way to recycle them. I spent a couple of months deciding whether or not to buy it and then got it in January. Four months later I'm even more pleased with it than when I first bought it. A great product.
Worth every penny May 27, 2008 Papaver (Gloucestershire) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My husband likes a good espresso and I like a latte, and this machine satisfies both of us. We struggled with a Krups espresso machine for a while but never got to grips with it, and have also tried coffee from a Senseo machine - neither of them come anywhere near the Nespresso for taste and ease of use. We have had the Nespresso coffee maker for a couple of months now and it is still a real treat to decide which capsule we want from our selection box and then enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. We always warm the espresso cup with hot water from the machine first so haven't had any problems with the temperature of the coffee that one of the other reviewers had.
