This is the first carpet cleaner i've ever bought and i must say what an excellent choice. After lots of homework to try to find the right one i opted for this model.You certainly get results i was amazed.you will find the cleaner is very easy to use.Its best not to release too much water use sparingly and just repeat over the really soiled places .I did my bedroom carpet and i kept going over sucking up all the water and i was amazed how dry and clean the carpet became.

I was a little dubious at first as to whether I should buy one of these new fangled uprights. I'm use to putting my weight behind the more classic cylinder type of cleaner and really giving my carpets a good old clean. I wasn't sure if these upright models would do a good job but thought I'd give it a go anyway.
I've been pleasantly surprised at just how good this cleaner is. The water jets penetrate deep into the carpet and the brushes lift the carpet pile. Suction is powerful and my carpets were left only slightly damp but were fit to walk on right away being dry to the touch the very next morning.
This model comes with a upholstery attachment that doubles up as a pre treatment sprayer. The sprayer works just fine as does the attachment which I used on my stairs. Although still very good I did notice the stair carpet was quite damp after cleaning, more so than the floor carpet. I went over it again to try to remove some of the excess moisture but I wasn't able to get any more water to suck up.
Other than that there's no complaints about this machine, I like to clean my carpets two or three times a year so the price of this VAX is about the same as hiring out a cleaner three times. A real bargain

Having tried other carpet cleaners, including the old round Vax I was a bit unsure whether to buy yet another one.
I made the mistake of having a new cream carpet fitted a few months ago, even though I have a toddler and two dogs - most impractical. Recent building works really marked up my carpet and I was considering ripping it out for a more practical solution.
We tried our old Kirby and their highly expensive shampoo with very disappointing results. Ordered and tried the Vax Rapide and oh what a difference. Stains that I had attempted with other specialist cleaners were gone, the carpet came up really excellent. Some ground in marks will need a second attempt but overall I was so pleased.
I highly recommend the Vax Rapide, it succeeds where others have failed !!!

I decided to buy this carpet cleaner after borrowing my brothers, my carpets had not been cleaned for about eight years and they were becoming a bit smelly.As soon as you spray the solution onto the carpet the cleaner sucks up the water,and you cannot imagine how dirty the water is that gets sucked up, i use hot water slightly cooled with some cold water it tells you to use cold but i prefer hot but not tooo hot, the stair tool/upholstery attachment works a treat on the stairs carpet, does not leak if everything is fitted properly.The carpet dries within a few hours as long as you don't over wet and the smell the next morning when you enter the room is fresh not the stale stuffy smell.The carpet pile is not flat anymore and they are clean clean clean stubborn stains will need going over few more times but who cares when you get clean fresh smelling carpets, better than hiring those big clumsy cleaners for over 60 a time when you can buy a great looking cleaner to use for life and pay only once.

I just received the above carpet washing machine. Once my husband assembled the machine for me I got to work. I started off in the living room and washed the rug, the flooring is laminate. I was very impressed. The rug looked much fresher and the cream colour had restored itself to its original colour. I then went to my childrens bedroom which has a beige carpet along with the other three bedrooms. There had been a mark left a a sickness stain and other stains which weren't coming out. Once I used the Vax Carpet washer all the marks were removed. I then did our own bedroom. There were various marks here too which were removed. Both rooms have now clean carpets, received a new lease of life and look like new again. I am now off to do the hall which I had done professionally in April but the heavy duty area needs another clean.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is worth considering buying it. After all it was through other readers reviews that I chose to purchase this model myself.
It is very easy to use. Highly recommended.
