Excellent carpet washer, first used with just water to try it out on a cream carpet in the hallway. This machine picked so much dirt up and brought the carpet out like new.
The tools are excellent, all what is needed and easy to assemble.
The machine is quite expensive, but you do get 6year guarantee to if it breaks down, it will be replaced no problem.
Overall excellent buy, very pleased. Ideal if you have pets and children.

Marvellous. Excellent. A standing ovation! Does it exactly what it says on the box... "Vax's best ever cleaner". Much better than my previous Bissell Proheat. Very powerful suction and revolutionary spinscrub technology clean really well. Suction is very powerful, carpets are left very dry. This is all in addition to the onboard built in heater which heats solution. Very easy to use! Works nicely with the new Vax Ultra carpet shampoo.

This is an extremely good carpet cleaner. So far I've used it to clean a 2 year old carpet, and a 13 year old carpet. The dirt and grime that the Vax picked up on both carpets was incredible. You don't realise how dirty your carpets get until you use a cleaner like this.
You'll need to purchase more cleaning solution, as the two bottles supplied with the Vax are only small bottles. I recommend Vax Ultra, a new improved solution. It worked a treat on my carpets, and left the carpet pile looking as good as new - I kid you not! Amazon didn't stock the solution, so I ordered it from another retailer. Vax also sell it direct.
At first glance the unit doesn't appear very solid or sturdy, as it pivots in two. It does this, so that the clean and dirty water tanks remain separate from one another and can be easily removed and emptied.
However, I used the Vax with ease and it appears to be well designed. Set-up was simple, as the cleaner is practically ready to go. Just fit the accessory holder to the back, then put on the fitments, and you're all set.
Good Points:
- Powerful cleaning
- Immediate results
- The Vax heats the water upon release
- 6 rotating brushes revive the carpet pile, literally!
- Powerful suction (carpets were left barely damp & dried very quickly)
- Both tanks are lightweight and easy to clean
- Can be switched from cleaning mode, or spillage pick up mode easily
- A 6 Year Guarantee!
Bad Points:
- A fairly heavy unit. Some may struggle to push and pull this cleaner
- Very Noisy. When I switched the cleaner off my ears were ringing. Get some Earplugs or use cotton wool
- The Vax doesn't have a retractable power cord, unlike some of their vacuums. For a top of the range model, it would have been nice to have this.
- The hose attachment isn't very long. I need to wash the carpet on my stairs, and the Vax certainly won't reach that far. An extension kit will be necessary (if one exists?)
Overall I'm very pleased with the product and highly recommend it.

I have had this machine about 3 months and have used all over the house with really pleasing results. I have had my carpets cleaned by professionals and I have used the one you can rent from Johnsons and B&Q and was very sceptical about investing in my own carpet cleaner, but this is as good if not better than the other cleaning alternatives i have tried.
It is easy to set up so I can just drag it out of the cupboard for little accidents in a jiffy, the cleaning results are impressive and the carpets smell lovely and fresh afterwards. I lent my machine to a friend who had got chimney soot all over her 3 day old cream carpet......it has left a feint mark in 1 area but has removed the rest.........she is so impressed she will be investing in a machine in the near future.
On the downside it is a heavy machine..........but no where near as heavy as the ones you can hire.....overall for my first owned carpet cleaner I am over the moon with it.

I bought this cleaner about 2 weeks ago and went wild in the first week cleaning everything with exceptional results. I have done rugs, carpets and stairs and all look as good as new.....pleasing results. It's not rocket science to use this All Terrain Carpet Washer. Just fill up the individual reservoirs and off you go!
The only downside is that you'll have to buy more cleaning solution, as the two bottles supplied with the Vax are only 423ml. I bought some from another retailer for 7.99 for 1.5Lts which was 2.00 than another, so it pays to shop around!!
Overall I'm very extremely pleased with this cleaner and thoroughly recommend it if you have pets!!
